Deaths, Funerals in Omaha

Christina C. Bjork, age 90, died Tuesday at home, 2402 North Sixtieth Street. Survivors: 5 daughters: Mrs. Carl Jacobson, Selma, Eleonora, Nellie, Edith all at Omaha; 1 son Ernest at Ong, Nebraska. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m., In the Garden Motuary, and Thursday at Stockholm Lutheran Church at Shickley, Nebraska.  Burial at Shickley

Homer Crossley, age 57, of 2712 North Thirty-first Street, died Sunday at the hospital. Survivor is wife Anna. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with burial in Forest Lawn.  Myers Funeral Home.

Olaf Nelson, age 85, at home, Immanuel Deaconness Instituite Home for the Aged. Survivor is 1 daughter Mrs. Charles H. Hinds at Lincoln, Nebraska. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m.at Roberts Mortuary at Lincoln with burial in Wyuka cemetery at Lincoln. C. C. Haynes Funeral Home.

Frank L. Smith, age 77, of Ashland, Nebraska died Monday at hospital. Survivors are: wife Edie, 2 step sons: William Anson at Council Bluffs, Iowa; Denton Anson at Omaha. John A. Gentleman Mortuary.,

Mrs. Frank Stirling, age 80, formerly of Omaha died Friday at San Jose, California. Survivors are 2 daughters: Mrs. Jean Long, Mrs. Jessie Applegarth both at San Jose, California; 1 step son Earle A. [last name not shown in the item] at Omaha. Services and burial at San Jose, California.

William Vataski, age 68, of 3013 South Twenty-eighth Avenue, died Monday at hospital. John A. Gentleman Mortuary.

Deaths, Funerals outside Omaha

Mrs. George Holyoke, age 28, died Monday at Lincoln, Nebraska after a short illness. Mrs.Holyoke was the niece of Miss Leeta Holdrege, head of the Visiting Nurses Association her. Also surviving are her husband, her parents Mr. and Ms. Walter Horner at Lincoln, and another aunt Mrs. Robert Hollister at Omaha.

George Schmitz, age 35, former Omaha pilot died Friday at Tulsa, Oklahoma. Survivors are: parents Mr. and Mrs. William G. Schmitz at Omaha, his wife Hilda V., 1 son George W. jr.,, 1 daughter Judith Ann all at Tulsa. Private services were held Sunday at Tulsa with burial Thursday at Pensacola.

Mrs. Lulu Mae Smith, age 70, died Monday at Papillion, Nebraska. Mrs. Smith was born in Sarpy county and had lived near Papillion all her life. Survivors are: 1 daughter Mrs. Merle Robb at Papillion, 2 sons: Emmett at Papillion, Harry at Omaha. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Claire Funeral Home at Papillion. Burial will be at Springfield.
